For many, this year has been especially challenging. Even for the most optimistic, a barrage of hardships can wear anyone down. In difficult times, it is important to search for the positive in every situation, lean on each other for support, and encourage others to embrace resilience and adapt to make the best of a negative situation. Working to motivate and inspire others during challenging times is not an easy task, but it is beneficial. Before I give advice, send a message, or write a blog, I revert to three principles that provide a distinct road map to influencing others in a positive way. If you find yourself in a position to help others, these steps may assist you as well.

Lead By Example

One of the most effective ways to inspire others is by demonstrating your own optimism and forward-thinking attitude. When it comes to leading by example , your feelings must be genuine. If you try to compel others to be positive when you are easily swayed by negativity, the reality will become apparent and result in lower motivation than before.

Striving to be positive, flexible, and open-minded during challenging times can be difficult. But if you want to make the most of less-than-ideal circumstances and encourage others to do the same, you will need to adjust your attitude accordingly.

Lend a Hand

Similarly, helping others is a great way to encourage them to get inspired. How you help other people will vary; this practice could entail making charitable donations to nonprofits, purchasing and delivering groceries to those in need, listening to a friend or colleague’s troubles, or simply engaging someone with pleasantries. At any given moment, we could all use some support, so making an effort to reach out and help other people is a great way to reduce their stress, promote a sense of community, and inspire positive feelings and motivation.

Show Appreciation

Proponents of mindfulness often reap the benefits of gratitude for everyone involved. The one giving thanks tends to boost their own levels of empathy and self-esteem, while the one receiving the gratitude feels appreciated and valued. Showing appreciation during difficult times is one of the easiest and most effective ways to encourage others to feel inspired, motivated, and positive. Not only that but expressing gratitude and appreciation regularly will help individuals feel better about their personal situations and make them acutely aware of the good aspects of their lives. Being appreciative is an excellent way to inspire others to have a more positive attitude and spread good vibes to others.

During difficult times, finding motivation and inspiration may seem challenging on your own. Making a decisive effort to encourage others, offer aid, and provide praise when appropriate can make a remarkable difference in others’ attitudes and outlook toward life.
